Des is an applied mathematician with an interest in ecosystem modelling, economic evaluations, platforms and APIs. He studied mathematical biology at Oxford and QUT. He was an Advisor and Tech Lead at the Prime Minister's Strategy Division in Australia, and has led technology projects as Chief Technology Officer or Chief Data Scientist at successful startups, government, FTSE 100 companies and digital health services, covering the full strategy and software-development life cycle. He is also a seed and early-stage investor with a focus on health tech and healthcare for groups overlooked and underserved by current business and technology.
