
Ana is an economist with expertise in health economics, policy evaluation, and epidemiology. Her work integrates economic analysis with public health to address pressing global challenges. She joined IGH in 2019 and has been the programme co-director for the MSc in Health Economics and Decision Science since 2022. Current research projects include:
- Impact of environmental factors, such as heat and pesticide exposure, on birth outcomes and educational attainment in Ecuador.
- Causes and potential solutions for pharmaceutical supply shortages in the UK and EU.
- Equity impact of self-sampling for cervical cancer screening uptake in the UK
- Effectiveness and cost-effectiveness of using low-field MRI for diagnosing ischaemic stroke in Paraguay.
- Acceptability and design of social protection systems in Colombia.
